Assistant Professor of Education

Seeking a dedicated and experienced professional for a full-time, non-tenure track position. The successful candidate will teach both in-person and HyFlex (hybrid flexible) courses in our undergraduate and graduate programs.

A commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion, with a special focus on fostering a culture of belonging, is essential.

We seek a candidate with a strong commitment to teaching excellence and student success. Carthage faculty need the ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and students, and have excellent communication and organizational skills.

Proficiency in using technology to support teaching and learning is critical, as our education department delivers courses in person and also online through our HyFlex program.

Carthage is particularly interested in candidates with expertise in special education, administration, reading, K-12 teacher preparation content areas, and / or secondary education.

Responsibilities :

• Teaching courses in education and the candidate's area of specialization, as able.
• Foster an inclusive and supportive environment for all students, emphasizing a culture of belonging.

Qualifications :

• A master's degree is required; a doctorate degree in Education or a related field is preferred.
• Some experience teaching at the K-12 and / or collegiate level is required.

Other preferred qualifications include :

current Wisconsin teaching and / or administrative license and Reading Endorsement; five years teaching experience in K-12 settings;

online teaching experience; collegiate teaching experience.
