About Rutter

Rutter is building the common language for business. Rutter is used by companies all over the world to read and write data across commerce, accounting, and payments platforms.

Rutter’s Universal API makes it easy for companies to automate accounting processes, deliver data-driven lending decisions, launch in new markets, and more.

We’re backed by a16z and investors from leading fintech innovators like Plaid, Alloy, Ramp, and Modern Treasury.

The Role

We are seeking a dynamic and results-driven Product Manager to join our fast-paced team.

As our Product Manager on e-commerce integrations, you will be responsible for deeply understanding the ecosystem of commerce enablement tools and designing a unified API across different platforms that fit those workflows.

The role involves a mix of product and sales engineering - you’ll join all sales calls as the technical counterpart and demo the product in order to gain a better understanding of the customer, and use those learnings to group customers by common workflows and design an API that fits the needs of that workflow.

You’ll have the opportunity to own an entire product line of ecommerce-centric integrations and will report directly to the CEO.

You will :

  • Oversee the full product life cycle (strategy, build, execution, and utilization) for Rutter’s ecommerce products, and be the internal + external subject matter expert on ecommerce workflows, integrations, and API design.
  • Product strategy
  • Understand all the tools in the e-commerce enablement landscape and group them into distinct, API-based workflows that Rutter can provide.
  • Understand how tools in the space mature and build sales collateral that can speak to the future state of those tools.
  • Prioritize what workflows Rutter should execute on.
  • Identify adjacent integrations and workflows to those used by tools in e-commerce enablement.
  • Product execution
  • Design unified APIs that allow customers in the e-commerce enablement landscape to execute on certain workflows.
  • Build endpoint-level and field-level API product mappings that the engineering team will use to build the product.
  • Build deep understanding of the workflow and API requirements with the engineering team. Build strong customer empathy.
  • GTM execution
  • Demo and answer questions about the product on sales calls.
  • Use customer learnings to build an opinion on how a customer’s product matures and how Rutter can help them achieve their future state.

You have :

  • 3-10 years of product management experience
  • Coding experience
  • Run sales cycles with customers

You (ideally) have :

  • A deep understanding of e-commerce workflows
  • Worked at an early stage company

What you'll get :

  • A fast-paced, collaborative environment
  • Unlimited paid time off, quarterly company-wide recharge days, and a wellness stipend
  • 100% medical, dental, and vision coverage
  • 16 weeks of paid parental leave
  • A stipend to buy your laptop and set up your home office
  • 401K match
  • Ownership & stake in the company

Where we are, and where you’ll be :

We’re a New York based company with a small number of team members based on the west coast.

Compensation

  • If performed in New York or San Francisco, the total on-target earnings cash compensation range for this role is $145,103 - $230,506.
  • Our actual compensation packages are based on a wide array of factors unique to you, including your skill set, years of experience, and geographic location.

Rutter believes that diversity and inclusion enrich our workplace, so we are committed to hiring talented individuals with diverse backgrounds for our roles, including qualified applicants with prior arrest or conviction records in accordance with local, state, and / or federal laws, including the San Francisco Fair Chance Ordinance.
