The Director of Quality Resident Services will be responsible for completing QRS reviews for each of the communities, visiting challenged or at-risk communities as required, participating in due diligence, company acquisitions and / or development projects, analysis, associate education, reporting trends within the communities, and other tasks as assigned.
Participation in the training and development of new employees and implementing initiatives that will allow the company to run more effectively and efficiently are a large part of the role.
This role requires frequent travel potentially to any one of our 67 communities located in New England, New York or Virginia.
The Director of Quality Resident Services reports directly to the Vice President of Quality Assurance.
Responsibilities
Communication
- Ensures timely and concise communication with communities, regional operators, VP / SVP teams
- Ensures associates are educated about the QRS process
- Creates an environment that allows for learning
- Contributes to the industry by participating in state and national associations
- Possesses excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
Compliance / Safety
- Understands state regulations of all States which Benchmark operates
- Ability to navigate and understand state survey results to improve compliance
- Assist with development and implementation of corrective action plans / plans of correction as required
- Revise, and / or develop standards and practices to align with state regulatory requirements and Benchmark best practices
- Assists communities with state regulatory survey preparedness
- Participates in the development of training programs to reflect quality improvement
Organization / Prioritization
- Effectively prioritizes using time-management skills and can multi-task multiple priorities
- Collaborates with others to execute Benchmark initiatives
- Participates in development of new systems to result in customer / resident focused environment and company profitability
- Participates in special projects as assigned to improve company outcomes (labor management, quality, etc.)
Problem Solving / Decision Making
- Takes corrective actions as required
- Identifies potential risk and presents solutions. Provides training as required
- Serves as a liaison between communities and corporate quality assurance committee to identify areas of opportunity / improvement
- Demonstrates the ability to set priorities and complete assignments in a timely manner while managing multiple duties and responsibilities
Public Relations / Marketing
Demonstrates the ability to represent the company in a wide variety of public settings including, but not limited to, making presentations to large groups and meeting community professional and government leaders

- Demonstrates flexibility and an ability to lead that promotes teamwork and collaboration
- Works with various departments to identify areas of opportunity. Provides support to identify action steps
- Participates in development of new systems to result in customer / resident focused environment and company profitability
- Works with all departments to update and review individual requirements to ensure new initiatives, changes, etc. are captured during QRS reviews

- Plans, implements, and evaluates the needs of the team to further assist with community success

Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Healthcare, Hospitality, Gerontology, Nursing or other course of study that relates to service to the elderly, preferred
- 3-5 years of management, compliance or healthcare related experience
- Valid driver’s license
- Demonstrates computer literacy and familiarity with a variety of office software, including but not limited to word processing, spreadsheets, databases and presentation software to include Yardi, Ulti, Kronos, Relias, BI tools.
- Demonstrates ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality regarding residents, employees, staff and our communities.
- Maintains good working knowledge of all programs, guidelines, and regulations that apply to assisted living.
- Having assumed a managerial role that was responsible for multiple disciplines.
