Overview
Alden Park is looking for a Business Manager who is responsible for rent collection and maintenance of resident ledgers.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities :
- Maintains all accounting on the property including collecting and posting rent, financial and leasing reports, month-end, pre-close, bank deposits & ensuring a balanced rent roll.
- Collects delinquent account balances and serves balance due notices for current and past residents in a timely manner.
Sends balances to collection company, as needed.
- Follows proper procedures for online accounting system, including but not limited to creating and receiving purchase orders, and coding and forwarding property invoices to accounting for payment.
- Processes evictions including serving notices, attending court hearings and processing all required paperwork.
- Prepares correspondence including balance notices, and other memos or notices.
- Assist with entering move-ins, move outs, and lease renewals into YARDI.
- Perform accurate and timely input of property accounting activities into Property Management software, as well as, the daily occupancy and delinquent reports.
- Prepares security deposit refund accounting including posting of charges, requesting refunds and processing collections efforts.
- Prepares tenant account analysis and reconciliations when tenants dispute charges to their accounts.
- Assist in the maintenance of resident files, as directed by the Property Manager.
- Process monthly and quarterly close out reports, reconciliation and corrections.
- Performs pre-close and accounting month end in accordance with accounting calendar.
- Pays invoices for property
Qualifications
- Prefer a degree in accounting, business, hospitality or property management; at least one year previous bookkeeping and / or accounting experience required.
- Good time management skills
- Strong customer service orientation
- Must have the ability to reason and use good judgment.
- Valid Driver’s license is required
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel)
- Industry software experience (YARDI, E Site, etc.)
- Able to multitask and meet deadlines in a timely manner
- Willing to work flexible schedule including weekends
- Legal authorization to work in the United States
