Job Summary
This is a limited appointment that will end one year from the start date.
The Staff Research Associate will be expected to perform experiments using cell culture systems and mouse models. Responsibilities include running PCR for genotyping and cloning, dissecting, embedding, and cryosectioning mouse retinal tissue, and staining retinal sections and whole mounts.
This position will provide technical assistance, prepare and arrange reagents, order and inventory stocks, and may fill in as needed for animal care.
The salary range for this position is $26.00 - $31.04 (Hourly Rate).
Required Qualifications
- BA / BS in a related science and knowledge of, or experience with, the basic techniques or methods required by the position;
- or an equivalent combination of education and experience;
- Lab skills including PCR, qPCR, western blotting, immunohistochemistry, histopathology, and microscopy;
- Knowledge of RNA and DNA isolation;
- Knowledge of ocular dissection;
- Cell and molecular biology experience as obtained in school.
Preferred Qualifications
Animal husbandry and rodent behavior experience as obtained in school.
