Assistant Director of Learning and Development

A healthcare organization in New York City is currently seeking an experienced professional to join their learning department as their new Assistant Director of Learning and Development.

Responsibilities :

The Assistant Director of Learning and Development will :

  • Collaborate with People Operations, Learning Department, and DEIB teams to develop and implement learning solutions that align with business strategies and enhance organizational performance
  • Lead the delivery and continuous improvement of learning programs, ensuring alignment with business goals and focusing on key metrics such as the Strategic Plan, Employee Engagement, and Patient and Family Centered Care
  • Oversee the creation and evaluation of various learning programs, including classroom, e-learning, and on-the-job training, using best practices and performance-focused methods
  • Define and track metrics to assess the effectiveness of learning initiatives, ensuring a high-quality experience and a positive return on investment
  • Utilize the Learning Management System to assign and track training content, ensuring smooth program delivery across the organization
  • Collaborate with key stakeholders to understand organizational learning needs and recommend solutions that address talent development and cultural goals
  • Partner with DEIB and People Operations teams to implement employee engagement programs and professional development initiatives, particularly for diverse team members
  • Work with internal experts and external vendors to ensure successful delivery of learning and development objectives

Qualifications :

  • Master's degree; Doctorate, ideally in Leadership, Learning Management, Instructional Design, Human Resource Development, or a related field
  • 7+ years of progressive experience in learning and development
  • 5+ years experience in a supervisory role managing and mentoring staff
  • Knowledgeable of adult learning principles, learning technologies, and instructional design methods, including ADDIE, Tell / Show / Do / Review, Bloom's Taxonomy, Maslow's Hierarchy of Needs, Kirkpatrick Evaluation Model, Andragogy, and Change Management
  • Proficiency in Google Workspace and MS Office Suite, including Articulate, Adobe Pro, Google Meet, and PowerPoint
  • Results-oriented and passionate about talent development and learning programs

Desired Skills :

  • Doctorate, ideally in Leadership, Learning Management, Instructional Design, Human Resource Development, or a related field
  • ICF or similar coaching certification
  • Certifications in diagnostic tools and assessments
