Bluehawk, LLC is seeking a UX / UI Designer responsible for designing and developing user interfaces for large consumer-facing web applications.

This role requires a broad understanding of web application components, from initial design through implementation and deployment.

The ideal candidate will translate high-level requirements into intuitive, functional, and aesthetically pleasing interfaces.

They will collaborate with product management and engineering teams to deliver innovative solutions and ensure a seamless user experience.

This position is contingent upon the contract being awarded.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop user interfaces for web applications, ensuring a cohesive and engaging user experience.
• Translate high-level requirements into interaction flows and visual designs.
• Create wireframes, storyboards, user flows, process flows, and site maps to communicate design ideas effectively.
• Participate in all phases of development from definition and design to implementation, unit testing, and deployment.
• Develop and execute automated unit tests to ensure the quality of releasable software.
• Participate in code reviews and contribute to structured practices in source code management and build / release management.
• Conceptualize and design original ideas that simplify and enhance user experience.
• Lead usability reviews and propose improvements to front-end design.
• Execute all visual design stages, from concept to final hand-off to engineering teams.
• Collaborate with product management and engineering to define and implement solutions aligned with product direction, visuals, and user experience.
• Present and defend design concepts and key milestone deliverables to peers and executive-level stakeholders.
• Conduct user research, evaluate feedback, and incorporate findings into design improvements.
• Establish and promote design guidelines, best practices, and standards.
• Ensure adherence to design guidelines and maintain consistency across the application.

Qualifications

• Active TS / SCI with the ability to obtain a CI Polygraph.
• Bachelor’s degree in Design, Human-Computer Interaction, Computer Science, or a related field.
• At least 8 years of experience in UX / UI design, particularly for large consumer-facing web applications.
• Proven experience in creating wireframes, storyboards, user flows, process flows, and site maps.
• Proficiency in design and wireframing tools such as Photoshop, Illustrator, OmniGraffle, or similar.
• Proficiency in HTML, CSS, and JavaScript for rapid prototyping.
• Experience working within Agile / Scrum development processes.
