What You Will Do :

National Louis University is expanding our outreach activities to the central Illinois / downstate Illinois areas to focus on expanding our student enrollment for students transferring from community colleges, degree completers, and educators who are seeking to grow their careers in the education field.

We are seeking someone who can work independently and be comfortable in a field position to establish and maintain relationships in community colleges, early childhood centers, and K-12 schools and districts to represent the university with professionalism and enthusiasm.

The position is home-based, and will require extensive travel throughout the territory and periodic visits to our campus in downtown Chicago.

Excellent sales, account management and presentation skills are needed.

This is a remote position but will require candidate to be based downstate Illinois to be able to travel, network and build relationships throughout the area.

Essential Responsibilities

Drive partnership, enrollment and revenue growth-identifying and proposing new partnership opportunities in assigned verticals such as Community Colleges, Early Childhood Centers and K-12 Schools.

In coordination with the Director / ED, develop strategies, initiatives, and execute tactical plans for partnership work that is aligned with the University's overarching strategic plan.

Coordinate with NLU's leadership team to develop mutually beneficial proposals with prospective clients. Research and analyze competitor set information and determine market share opportunity.

Deliver and negotiate contractual agreements with potential partners in coordination with the Director of Partnerships.

Create and conduct presentations to key stakeholders within the assigned sector. Deliver and negotiate contractual agreements with potential partners in coordination with the Director of Partnerships.

Manage and document day-to-day activities within NLU's contact management system (CRM)-creating transparency and visibility for internal collaboration.

Develop and strengthen connections with internal stakeholders at NLU; creating strong, multi-level relationships with academic partners;

and staying abreast of major industry trends.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree, required
  • At least one year of sales experience including customer relationship management and presentation skills
  • Experience working in partnerships / outreach in an educational setting and / or experience in a sales environment, preferred
  • Track record of success using Social Media tools (Instagram, Snapchat, Facebook and Twitter), preferred
  • Experience working with Salesfoce (preferred) and with Microsoft Office (i.e. Outlook, Word, PowerPoint), required

Expands sales within existing accounts and keeps track of account activities in order to respond to new developments and change.

Presentation Skills - Comes across as confident and well-prepared when making group presentations. Makes effective use of visual aids or presentation software and looks at ease while handling questions from the audience.

His / her presentations hold the audience's attention and tend to be the right length for the amount of information covered.

Relationship Building - Builds rapport and develops alliances with a broad range of people. Adjusts communication style to meet the needs of individuals at various organizational levels and to meet the needs of clients.

Forms alliances by demonstrating concern and respect for others, as well as by highlighting common interests and aspirations.

Leave others feeling that he / she will be a trusted ally and is careful to act in ways that reinforce that trust over time.

Customer Focus - Personally demonstrates that external (or internal) customers are a high priority. Identifies customer needs and expectations and responds to them in a timely and effective manner.

Anticipates and prevents delays or other things that can adversely affect the customer. Keeps customers informed about the status of pending actions and inquires about customer satisfaction with products or services.

Travel is required in Central and Southern Illinois and must be willing and able to commute to the Chicago campus on occasion as needed / requested.
