Summary :

The Registered Nurse (RN) provides professional nursingcare for the comfort and well-being of patients. The RegisteredNurse (RN) prepares equipment and assists physician duringexaminations and treatments.

The Registered Nurse (RN) administersprescribed medications, changes dressings, cleans wounds, andmonitors patient vital signs.

The Registered Nurse (RN) observesand maintains records on patient care, condition, reaction, andprogress. The Registered Nurse (RN) participates asprimary nurse, associate nurse, a team member or team leader in theplanning and implementing of patient care.

The Registered Nurse(RN) directs and assists in carrying out safe aseptic technique andprocedures. The Registered Nurse (RN) offers leadership anddirection to all support staff within department.

Coronary Medical ICU is a 24-bedmultidisciplinary unit that provides care to a wide range ofpatients with serious medical, cardiac, and cardiac surgicaldisorders or complications requiring the highest level ofmonitoring and treatment.

Our team uses advanced technologies suchas Swan-Ganz, Therapeutic Hypothermia after Cardiac Arrest, Tablo,and IABP, to treat and monitor diseases such as : Acute CoronarySyndrome, STEMI, NSTEMI, ARDS, Diabetic Emergencies, Drug Overdose,GI Bleed, Multi-system Organ Failure, Renal Failure, RespiratoryDiseases and Sepsis.

Along with the Resident, the Medical / CardiacICU staff delivers uncompromised care in an environment of clinicalexcellence, collaboration, diversity, teamwork, and mutualrespect.

CHRISTUS Spohn HospitalCorpus Christi-Shoreline overlooking Corpus Christi Bay is thelargest and foremost acute care medical facility in the region,with a full range of diagnostic and surgical specialty services incardiac, cancer and stroke care.

Requirements :

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.Able to assess, plan, implement and evaluate nursingcare.
• One-year experience in nursingpreferred.
• Current Texas State RNLicense
• CPR (American HeartAssociation)
• ACLS required within 6 months ofhire / transfer date
• Unit SpecificRequirements
• Ssh Icu / Micu (A3), Ssh CoronaryOth (A4), Ssh Cardio Icu (Cvicu), Ssh Icu / Micu 3 & Ssh TraumaIcu : NIHSS required within 90 days of hire / transferdate
• Ssh Icu / Micu (A3), Ssh Cardio Icu (Cvicu)& Ssh Icu / Micu 3 : EKG within 90 days of hire / transferdate
• Ssh Trauma Icu : TNCC required within 18months of hire / transfer date Ssh Trauma Icu : ENPC or PALS requiredwithin 18 months of hire / transfer date
