American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Telemetry position in an acute care setting requiring a CA RN license and strong cardiac monitoring skills.
\n \n Responsibilities\n
Work in a large Telemetry unit within an acute care hospital environmentUnits include Tele I and Tele II with a total of 76 telemetry beds across several floorsTypical nurse-to-patient ratio is 1 : 4, with 1 : 3 on select unitsCare for patients with diagnoses including cardiac, CHF, chest pain, pneumonia, respiratory issues, and sepsisUse of GE telepacks and bedside mounted monitors, with mandatory EKG strip interpretation by RNsRequired to titrate heparin drips; experience with titration not mandatoryCerner is the charting system used; prior experience preferredTwelve-hour day shifts (6 : 45am–7 : 15pm) with every other weekend requiredFloating is required; travelers are first to float to MedSurg or Rehab, while certain telemetry nurses only float to ICU / CCUNo call or standby responsibilitiesRole involves close collaboration with patient care techs and monitor techs on shiftCharge nurse typically does not take a patient assignmentVentilator management is handled by respiratory therapy; vent experience is not requiredNavy scrubs are required as the unit dress codeTravelers commonly work on these units and are provided with intensive orientation (three shifts)Holiday coverage for one major and one minor holiday is requiredFirst time travelers are welcome to apply\n \n Requirements\n
Active CA RN license required at time of considerationMinimum two years of experience, with preference for telemetry and stepdown or CCU backgroundsCurrent certifications : BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, and proof of EKG interpretation classCOVID vaccine certification requiredMust provide two professional references, including one from a supervisor within the last 12 months and one from a peer or supervisor within the last three yearsMust be able to read and interpret telemetry / EKG stripsDriver’s license required for considerationCandidates must not have been employed by CommonSpirit, CHI, or Dignity facilities in the past year\n Benefits\n
