This 6-bed cardiac unitspecializes in the care of observation status patients. The typicalpatient population found in the cardiac observation unit includespatients with diagnoses such as chest pain, cardiac dysrhythmias,NSTEMIS, as well as the occasional overflow patient admitted fordialysis, syncope, etc.
Nurses working in this area must becompetent regarding rhythm recognition as well as cardiaccatheterization recovery, TR bands, etc.
The nurse to patient ratiois 1 : 4. Our team shares a space with ARU and therefor works veryclosely with them and occasionally assists with their outpatientspreoperative care as well as recoveries.

RESPONSIBLE FOR :
The staff nurse provides nursing care topatients from birth through the lifecycle utilizing nursingprocesses to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate the care forpatients.
He / she functions within the framework of the policies andprocedures of the organization and demonstrates professional growthand accountability.
The staff nurse is responsible for maintainingstandards of practice, coordinating patient care activities of allassigned staff in the provision of quality nursingcare.
Qualifications :
MINIMUMEDUCATION REQUIRED :
Graduate of a nursingprogram
MINIMUM EXPERIENCEREQUIRED :
New Graduates of a nursing programeligible
MINIMUMLICENSURE / CERTIFICATION REQUIRED BY LAW :
CurrentLicense in the State of Georgia as a Registered Nurse or NLC / eNLCMultistate License. BLS certification required.
ADDITIONALQUALIFICATIONS :
Advanced certification in fieldof specialty, if applicable. Bachelor's degree preferred. NursingExperience in Hospital Setting Preferred.
