Due to MSG's continued growth in our Transportation Division, a new opening is available for a Senior Engineering Project Manager!
In the transportation / traffic field, MSG is on the leading edge of autonomous vehicles & smart roads, smart streets downtown transportation, transportation demand management, modern interchange & intersection designs, multi-modal systems and corridor management / complete street.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide support for transportation, traffic planning and design projects.
- Manage the design, implementation, evaluation, and testing of transportation proposal packages.
- Create, oversee, and manage the master progress schedule to meet all time objectives; use project management principles in planning and closing projects.
- Monitor quality and progress of project staff, designers, engineers, subcontractors and other professionals to ensure scope, budget, schedule and quality is met.
- Organize and create documents for public bids and Request for Proposals (RFPs); assist in establishing initial budgets, review of estimates, and solicitation of bids to meet budget requirements and maintain cost effectiveness.
- Review and approve contracts; prepare budget and financial reporting to manage financial aspects of contracts.
- Perform engineering related calculations; recommend design criteria; resolve infrastructure conflicts; resolve plan design issues with geometric layouts;
implement solutions to mitigate schedule delays and budget overruns; assist with legal liability issues and contractual disputes.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
- A Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, transportation planning, or similar field of study is required.
- Experience with AutoCAD, MicroStation, and / or OpenRoads.
- 5-10 years’ experience in the transportation sector.
- Knowledge of ODOT & MDOT Design Standards.
- Ohio PE Registration, or ability to obtain registration within the next four years.
