Under the general direction of the Director, this position provides independent administrative and analytical support for human resource activites to include : payroll, leave of absence and workers compensation, employee and labor relations, and departmental policy and procedures for the Radiology Department. This Analyst plays a crucial role in processing, verifying, and maintaining confidential personnel related documentation, including payroll, attendance, training, grievances, and employee leaves of absence. The incumbent is fully responsible for preparing various data report formats for management, accessing and retrieving employee files, employee information, and employee rosters for the department.

The incumbent is the inital point of contact for HR activities for staff and is responsible to provide direction and guidance to staff regarding University procedures relating to, but not limited to, Payroll, Medical Leave, Leave of Absence, Workplace Injury, etc.Provides support to the Radiology Leadership team for human resources management and analysis.This includes collaborating with Leave of Absence department, disability management, central payroll, and department leadership to ensure accuracy for all departmental payroll data and associated records. Manage and facilitate projects, define priorities, and action steps, research ideas and plans with stakeholders, draft concept papers, develop timelines and discuss budgets, identify areas of concern, and make recommendations as appropriate. Provide assistance on matters that are confidential, sensitive and complex in nature and which require a high level of analytical skill, attention to detail, independent judgment, initiative, and a high degree of professionalism.

The incumbent in this position works with various levels of University management and work involves a high degree of confidentiality.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in related area and / or equivalent experience / training.
• No Minimum Work Experience
• Analytical and problem-solving skills to work with complex information, determine impact, identify risks, evaluate approaches; and develop solutions within the context of priorities, time constraints, and available resources.
• Experience working independently, with minimal direction from supervisor and demonstrated skills to take initiative to follow up on projects and / or assignments.
• Ability to make decisions and resolve problems with minimal supervisor intervention, exercising good judgment with priorities.
• Ability to independently conduct research, perform quantitative and qualitative analysis of diverse information and prepare analysis and reports in logical format.
• Ability to analyze personnel related data from multiple sources and present meaningful report formats.
• Understanding of and ability to execute payroll processes.
• Understanding of and ability to carry out complex employee and labor relations process : corrective / disciplinary actions, complaints and grievances.
• Political acumen and collegial communication skills to interact with persons at all levels of the hierarchy with varying backgrounds, levels of expertise, interest, and personal investment.
• Ability to be resourceful and diplomatic in facilitating the completion of projects.
• Experience and ability to apply a range of organizational and time management skills to coordinate and prioritize a diverse, complex workload and to meet competing deadlines in a fast paced environment with high attention to detail.
• Skills to discern new policies or procedures and revisions of existing for utilization.
• Skills to extract and synthesize information from a variety of sources; ability to determine the level of impact on the Leadership Team's commitments and responsibility and to translate, define and present that information to the Director using sound judgment to make recommendations.
• Mathematical, writing, editing and proofreading skills to produce clear, well-organized information with strict attention to correct grammar, spelling and punctuation.
• Analytical experience and skills to extract and assess data to provide statistical analysis for management review while evaluating complex issues and problems to independently develop and apply effective recommendations and solutions.
• Analytical experience and skills to review established policies and procedures, data, and situations for conformance with established guidelines.
• Experience planning ahead and anticipating the need for further action.
• Critical thinking skills to use logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems.
• Ability to develop and generate regular management reports of personnel data for review by departmental management teams.
• Teaching and communication skills necessary for interactions with department staff and other UC employees as necessary.
• Active listening skills to give full attention to what other people are saying, taking time to understand the points being made, asking questions as appropriate, and not interrupting at inappropriate times.
• Computer skills to utilize advanced aspects of various software programs (Microsoft Outlook, MS Exchange, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and the Internet) to accomplish assignments.
• Ability to compose reports, correspondence, and summaries in a comprehensive organized format.
• Experience planning ahead and anticipating the need for further action.
• Knowledge and understanding of campus-wide offices, administrative contacts, departments and resources.
