Responsibilities Work in an acute care hospital setting within the Labor & Delivery and Postpartum units Unit includes 7 L&D beds, 4 triage beds, 2 overflow beds, 27 postpartum beds, and a 5-bed nursery Average of 3 births per day, serving high-risk obstetric patients of any gestational age Follows AWHONN nurse-patient ratios and utilizes Cerner EMR and FetalLink fetal monitoring system Required 12-hour day shifts from 7am to 7 : 30pm, with four weekend shifts required per four-week schedule Nurses are expected to circulate for cesarean sections, collaborate with OB techs, and float between L&D, Postpartum, and NICU as needed Charge nurse and resource nurse available each shift, supported by OB techs Holiday coverage involves working typically one major and one minor holiday per contract Responsible for managing care of high-risk deliveries, EMT drop-offs, substance withdrawal cases, and patients with no prenatal care Will assist in NICU with grower / feeders and help with intake tasks within scope Floor-specific orientation provided with three shifts for onboarding Candidates should be comfortable caring for a largely Spanish-speaking population Navy scrubs are required OB / Neonatologist, respiratory therapy, and pharmacy are available 24 / 7 for support Optional call available; candidates willing to take call are preferred First-time travelers may be considered but at least one prior travel contract is preferred Candidates must not have been directly employed by associated facilities within the past year Requirements Active CA RN license required at time of consideration Minimum of 3 years RN experience, with at least some in Labor & Delivery / Postpartum Certifications required : BLS, ACLS, NRP, Advanced Fetal Monitoring (AWHONN - intermediate or advanced), COVID vaccination Experience using Cerner EMR and FetalLink fetal monitoring system preferred C-section circulating experience required Must have Postpartum experience in addition to Labor & Delivery Must provide two professional references : one supervisor from the last 12 months, one peer or supervisor from the last 3 years Must submit a valid driver's license Benefits High Pay and Bonuses Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options 401(k) Plan Weekly Payroll Deposit Free Online CEUs Generous Housing Allowance Travel and Licensure Reimbursements Non-taxed Per Diem and Subsidy Traveler Rewards and Discounts American Traveler Job ID P-623185.
