- Graduate of an accredited Registered Nursing program
- Current knowledge and skills appropriate to age / type of patient population served
- Sensitivity to patients' rights in the delivery of care
- Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, appropriate to the developmental age of the patient
Job Description :
- Coordinate and implement patient care specific to the age of the patient population served on the assigned units.
- Ensure quality care is provided in an efficient and safe manner, consistent with the unit's standards of care.
- Demonstrate performance consistent with the mission, philosophy, and goals of the unit and organization.
- Exhibit quality and effectiveness in work habits and clinical practice.
- Treat staff, physicians, patients, and families with consideration and respect.
- Work under the direction of the Patient Care Director or Manager.
- Handle exposure to bloodborne pathogens and infectious diseases in a clean, well-lighted, ventilated smoke-free environment.
- Adapt to varied working hours with flexibility due to unexpected changes in schedule and emergencies.
- Manage emergency and crisis situations, requiring prolonged, extensive, or considerable standing and walking.
- Perform heavy physical effort to position, push and / or transfer patients or equipment and supplies, including reaching, stooping, bending, kneeling, and crouching.
- Maintain hearing and visual acuity within normal or correctable limits, with the ability to judge distance and space relationships, see peripherally, and distinguish and identify different colors.
- Demonstrate manual dexterity and fine motor coordination.
