KITCHEN COOK
Position Summary
Ensures correct food portions are being cooked and served in a timely manner and maintains the kitchen areas. Prepares and sets up food for cooking and side orders.
Prepares meat, vegetables, soups, sauces, etc. before dining service.
Availability to move up to hibachi chef with increased pay available.
Responsibilities
- Readily prepares food according to restaurant standards and policies.
- Prepares a variety of meats, seafood, poultry, vegetables and other food items for cooking using a variety of kitchen equipment (including but not limited to grills, food processors, blenders and fryers).
- Performs shift opening and closing duties as assigned by the manager such as cleaning of refrigeration units, gaskets, chef carts and floors.
- Handles, stores, labels, and rotates foods properly and in accordance with public health safety, state and local laws.
- Uses knives, hand tools, utensils, and equipment to portion, cut, slice, julienne, whip, maintain temperature, chill, freeze or otherwise produce food for the dining room.
Qualifications
- Must be able to successfully complete training program in a reasonable time period.
- Previous experience as chef or cook highly desirable but not required.
- Must be able to lift over 50 pounds.
