We are seeking an experienced Estate Administration Paralegal to assist attorneys with all aspects of trust and estate administration, including preparation of federal estate and gift tax returns.
This is a non-exempt, full-time, on-site position with a regular schedule of Monday-Friday, 8 : 30 am-5 pm, with one hour for lunch, with flexibility possible for the specific schedule.
Daily responsibilities include, but are not limited to :
- Organizing and analyzing asset information for estates;
- Preparation of inventories, accountings and asset transfer documents;
- Preparation of probate documents and tax filings for large estates (including, IRS Form 706);
- Creating and maintaining client files;
- Assisting attorneys with the initial attorney-client meetings and gaining an understanding of the client's estate administration needs;
- Meeting with clients, trustees and family members and communicating with beneficiaries;
- Providing administrative support to the section attorneys as needed;
- Performing other job duties as assigned and assisting attorneys where needed.
Requirements :
Candidates should possess excellent drafting / writing skills, strong technology skills, ability to multi task and meet deadlines, and superior attention to detail.
- College degree and 10+ years of estate administration required.
- Proficiency with federal estate tax return preparation for the large estates (IRS Form 706) required;
- Demonstrated drafting / writing skills and ability to communicate clearly and effectively in writing and verbally;
- Strong technology skills;
- Proven ability to multi task and meet deadlines; to work as part of a team, as well as independently;
- Superior attention to detail; organization skills; flexibility and dependability
