About The Position
- Job Title : Registered Nurse - Intensive Care Unit (ICU) Job Specialty : Float Pool Job Duration : 13 weeks Shift : 7 PM - 7 AM, 12-hour Night Shifts Guaranteed Hours : 48 hours per week Experience : Minimum of 2 years required License : Registered Nurse License Certifications : BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIHSS Must-Have : - Neuro and Trauma experience - Ventilator management - Critical care drips / titration - Cardiac rhythm interpretation - Measuring cardiac strips - Drains, chest tubes, hemodynamic lines : art lines / CVP - Stroke experience Job Description : - Provide care for multispecialty critical care patients in Medical, Surgical, Cardiac, Neuro, Ortho, Trauma, and Interventional settings - Common diagnoses include Stroke, ICP monitoring, EVD Drains, spinal precautions, DKA, Sepsis, Multisystem trauma, COVID, STEMI, NSTEMI, Heart failure - As an ICU Float Pool RN, be prepared to float to ER Hold / Observation areas and Stepdown units - Comply with patient ratios : 1 : 2, based on acuity, may manage a third patient if one is being downgraded;
- ED Hold / Obs : 1 : 4-5, dependent on acuity - Work collaboratively with department support : CNA (1 : 10 days / nights), Charge Nurse, Resource Nurse (0700-1900), House Supervisor, RT, Hospitalist, and other specialists - Operate technology / equipment such as Cerner EMR, Alaris IV pumps, Pyxis medication dispensing, and monitors - Participate in the float pool, covering all levels of care as per the scope of practice, including ED observation and PACU holds - Complete general hospital orientation followed by a unit tour;
receive one shift of orientation before independent work - Adhere to the weekend rotation schedule : Every other weekend (Day shift : Sat / Sun, Night shift : Fri / Sat) - Follow holiday expectations : No request for time off during holidays - Wear professional scrubs (any color), avoid crocs with holes The position offers an opportunity to work alongside a dedicated team in a Level II Trauma Center with 411 beds.
