Position Summary
The Senior Accountant reports to the Corporate Controller. This role performs general accounting duties, prepares journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations, participates in the financial close process, and addresses ad-hoc questions from locations on their financial performance / journal entry impacts.
The Senior Accountant also performs location-level detergent cost reviews for potential follow up, analyzes location-level utility costs, and calculates sales and use tax impacts for Minnesota operations.
This role will also be heavily involved in starting up corporate internal audit processes for Crew.
Position Expectations
- Strong attention to detail and natural curiosity to understand and accurately explain variances
- Review location-level detergent costs against Crew established standards, along with timely follow ups on variances
- Analyze location-level utility costs, reviewing for variance explanations
- Calculate sales and use tax impacts for Minnesota operations
- Drive start up processes around corporate internal audits
- Prepare various journal entries, reconciliations, and general support for both the carwash and property management operations
- Construct balance sheet reconciliations, research, and resolve variances proactively bring up concerns to management
- Assess existing processes for potential improvement opportunities and help drive continuous improvement throughout Crew
- Participate in annual external audit
- Assist with annual budget process
- General participation in financial close process
- Perform ad hoc requests and reports to completion with accuracy
Position Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance
- 5+ years’ experience in Accounting / Finance
- Strong attention to detail
- Curiosity to understand and learn
- Analytically minded
- Positive, optimistic attitude
- Ability to manage time and prioritize
- Desire to learn and improve processes
- Excellent communication skills
- Strong knowledge of Excel, Word, PowerPoint
