Overview

Treasury Management Consultant II, Commercial Real Estate. The Treasury Management Consultant (TMC) partners with internal stakeholders to advise on deposits, treasury management, risk and other liquidity needs. The TMC builds a book of business through deposit growth, maintains and cross-sells existing clients, and prospect new-to-bank relationships.

The TMC on the Treasury Management Sales team identifies ways to improve the client experience and enhance Capital One's brand in the marketplace. Seen as a trusted advisor, the TMC works closely with commercial clients to understand their business, optimize Treasury workflows, and minimize financial and reputational risk. They create and deliver customized client-centric solutions through a consultative approach.

This TMC focuses exclusively on Commercial Real Estate (CRE) clients. Familiarity with CRE banking and financial operations is desirable. The role collaborates with dedicated CRE Relationship Managers and leadership to generate new-to-bank relationships while developing existing clients by delivering value-added solutions and working with product and technology to optimize offerings for evolving client needs, with a focus on new deposits to the bank.

Leveraging their network and collaborating across business lines, the TMC influences strategy to meet client needs while using sound judgment to assess risk. The TMC develops marketing and portfolio relationship plans specific to their market to drive profitable portfolio growth and net new revenue. They lead a team of functional partners who support Treasury Management, deposit sales processes, and ongoing relationships.

The TMC values teamwork and cooperation across value streams. This role works independently and uses initiative in client analysis and proposals, requiring minimal guidance from the sales leader.

Responsibilities

  • Consistently meet annual financial goals and benchmark competencies by demonstrating key sales behaviors such as strategy, collaboration and consultation, while building and maintaining a partnership-centric client portfolio
  • Manage portfolio of existing clients focusing on profitable, organic revenue growth and minimizing attrition
  • Manage portfolio of new-to-bank clients focusing on new revenue growth
  • Understand sales and relationship management for Commercial Real Estate clients and ongoing portfolio and banking account changes
  • Develop and maintain relationships with clients to grow existing business
  • Identify operational credit exposures and other risks within client businesses
  • Understand treasury management product risk and ensure compliance with Capital One credit policies and other risks (reputational, legal)
  • Set appropriate onboarding expectations, including documentation and ramp of sold services
  • Execute independent and collaborative sales calls to generate new, high-quality Treasury Management and deposit business to achieve or exceed YoY growth goals
  • Engage in local industry associations, networking groups and community organizations
  • Identify working capital efficiency opportunities and deepen relationships; stay aware of market and industry trends; escalate dissatisfiers appropriately
  • Identify and refer ancillary business opportunities to appropriate partners
  • Design customer-centric treasury management solutions and provide consultative expertise on the liquidity management cycle
  • Develop and maintain relationships with internal and external prospects to profitably expand business
  • Provide thought leadership through hosting events, attending and speaking at industry conferences, etc.
  • Collaborate with internal marketing on the design of sales collateral and company-sponsored marketing

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications :

  • Bachelor's degree or military experience
  • At least 4 years of financial services experience
  • At least 3 years of sales or business development experience
  • At least 3 years of treasury management experience
  • Preferred Qualifications :

  • Master's Degree or MBA
  • At least 1 year of experience in commercial real estate
  • At least 4 years of treasury management experience
  • In-depth treasury management product knowledge
  • Certified Treasury Professional designation or equivalent
  • Effective oral and written communication skills
  • Proficiency with Google Workspace or Microsoft Office applications

    The minimum and maximum full-time annual salaries for this role are listed below, by location. Salaries are for candidates hired to work within one of these locations and reflect the amount Capital One is willing to pay at the time of posting. Salaries for part-time roles will be prorated by hours worked.

    Chicago, IL : $115,200 - $131,500 for Treasury Management Consultant II

    Houston, TX : $115,200 - $131,500 for Treasury Management Consultant II

    Newport Beach, CA : $126,700 - $144,600 for Treasury Management Consultant II

    Plano, TX : $115,200 - $131,500 for Treasury Management Consultant II

    San Francisco, CA : $138,300 - $157,800 for Treasury Management Consultant II

    Candidates hired to work in other locations will be subject to the pay range for that location, and the actual salary offered will be shown in the offer letter.

    This role is eligible for performance-based incentive compensation, which may include cash bonuses and / or long-term incentives. Incentives may be discretionary or non-discretionary depending on the plan.
