The University of Arizona (UA) Physics Department and Hebei Institute of Technology (HEBUT) in Tianjin, China developed a B.
S. dual degree program in Applied Physics that began in 2021 and has experienced vigorous enrollment growth each year. In addition to being a faculty member of the UA, the Global Professor will also be a faculty member of UA's partner university, HEBUT.
As such, the job holder will be bound by the rules and regulations of both institutions and countries. In addition, the job holder must be able to qualify for, and obtain, a Chinese visa which will be sponsored by the partner university.
Duties of the Global Professor include :
Collaborate with UA and HEBUT faculty to develop a program that leverages existing strengths on both campuses.Teach two to three physics courses per semester in English to HEBUT-based undergraduate students.
Assist the UA Department of Physics in hiring other HEBUT-based faculty.
