Key Process Partners is a consulting company based in Howard County, Maryland that helps businesses nationwide with their processes supporting them in reaching their growth and profitability goals. We are looking for accountants to join our team to help our clients improve their accounting experience and their accounting and finance procedures! We primarily provide managerial accounting and do not offer compliance services at this time (tax preparation, audit, etc.). Most of our clients are for-profit, private / family-owned businesses.

This is a part-time, permanent role that is ideal for someone who is looking to work 10-15 hours a week. The work schedule is extremely flexible and you can choose your own work hours. This job is 100% remote; no in-person work is required. All business is conducted via Microsoft Teams, Zoom, OneDrive, SharePoint etc.

Ideal candidates have 2+ years of related work experience (typically in a corporate accounting department) and a Bachelor's degree in Accounting. Proficiency with Microsoft Excel is required, including formulas such as Vlookup, Sumif, Countif.

Salary range is $25-$30 an hour, and is based on your work experience relevant to the role.

Target start date no later than November 16, 2025

  • Job duties will include :
  • Receiving transaction information from clients and Recording financial transactions on an accrual basis in QuickBooks Online (entering bills and expenses, creating journal entries, etc.) (5 hours per week)
  • Matching downloaded transactions in QuickBooks Online (1 hour per week)
  • Creating and maintaining written documentation of accounting processes for Client's financial manual (1 or more hours per week)
  • Creating invoices to send to Client's customers (30 minutes per week)
  • Preparing workpapers for recurring transactions such as payroll and other activity (6 hours per month)
  • Saving monthly reports and workpapers to the shared folder (4 hours per month)
  • Creating journal entries in QuickBooks Online such as payroll entries, reclass entries, recurring journal entries, accruals, and prepaid expense amortization (2 hours per month)
  • Reviewing bank and credit card statements and request information for any missing transactions (2 hours per month)
  • Review transactions in Bill Spend and Expense formerly known as Divvy (purchasing card platform) to confirm all transactions are coded properly (1 hour per month)

  • About you :
  • The ideal candidate is very organized, thorough, detail-oriented, and meticulous. You love checklists and reference manuals, and prefer work that is routine and predictible. You are able to keep track of what needs to be done and when in order to meet deadlines. You are a good problem-solver and resourceful. You enjoy creating and improving Excel worksheets and workpapers. You like coming up with new ideas to improve, rather than maintain, the status quo.

    In this role, you would start out with 2 clients and could increase up to 5 clients. In the future, hours have the potential to increase from 10-15 hours per week, up to 25 hours per week.

    Our preferred candidate is able to work some core hours (flexible but most likely between the hours of 2pm and 5pm Eastern Time Tu / W / Th), but you will have the autonomy to work during the hours that suit your lifestyle best.
