Job Summary :

A relocation stipend of up to $7,500 is available for eligible candidates.

Functions under the direction of the clinical coordinator and / or department manager. The interventional special procedures technologist assists with providing safe, age-appropriate care to the patient by performing all exams provided by the department according to department procedures. The technologist has the knowledge and ability to properly and safely obtain a quality diagnostic study. He / she is responsible for performing a wide variety of technical procedures requiring independent judgment, ingenuity and initiative in the utilization of the equipment for the diagnosis and / or treatment of diseases. The technologist is able to independently perform job functions. He / she sets up the equipment to provide imaging service and positions patient for the procedure. Able to perform procedures in both the IR and vascular hybrid interventional procedural setting.

Core Responsibilities and Essential Functions :

Clinical Skills

• Completion of VI competencies
• Able to use critical thinking skills
• Work in conjunction with radiologists / vascular surgeons / cardiologists
• Preps the patient for procedure
• Demonstrates and understands sterile technique
• Prepares necessary supplies and equipment for procedure
• Enters appropriate charges for supplies and procedure (SIM CODES)

Complies with all WellStar Health System policies, standards of work, and code of conduct.

Required Minimum Education :

Graduate of AMA approved School of Radiology Technology. Required

Required Minimum License(s) and Certification(s) :

All certifications are required upon hire unless otherwise stated.

Additional License(s) and Certification(s) :

Required Minimum Experience :

Minimum 1 year experience in Interventional Special Procedures setting in either IR and / or vascular hybrid setting.

Required

Required Minimum Skills :

Able to function independently during procedures after appropriate orientation / competency on unit and as demonstrated by being place on call rotation.

Competency in all aspects of interventional / vascular procedures, patient positioning, exposure factors and radiation protection.

Required special / advanced procedure registry as outlined above.

Must have an understanding of anatomy and pathology as well as how they affect the quality of a procedure.

The individual must be able to communicate and understand verbal and written English language and display a positive attitude.
