Senior Director, Insights Quant and Mixed Methods

Job Description

As a Senior Director of Insights, you will be responsible for leading and successfully delivering multiple research and insights engagements at a time.

You will act as a thought partner to our junior to C-Suite level clients, crafting insights and developing actionable and provocative recommendations, while maintaining trusted relationships.

You will foster meaningful organic growth through ongoing relationships and repeat clients.

Specific research design and delivery responsibilities include, but are not limited to, methodology recommendations and engagement design, content, and questionnaire development, managing internal and external project members through the execution of data collection, field management, data processing, analysis, and reporting.

This also includes working with and collaborating with internal cross-functional teams in support of executing the highest quality work.

Insights responsibilities include translating data into learnings, integrated visual stories and comprehensive method agnostic narratives that establish impactful and strategic recommendations with minimal Pod Leader / Senior Practice Lead oversight often taking the role of a Senior Research or Senior Engagement Lead within a project.

You will be responsible for establishing, supporting, and building thriving relationships with clients of all levels and business functions.

You will also be responsible for mentoring, coaching, and delegating appropriate work to Associates and Sr. Associates (US and India based), Associate Directors, and Directors, and being directly responsible for their management, growth, development, and training roadmaps.

You will be mentored by senior leadership and receive on-the-job formal training through Material.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree is required (Master’s degree is a plus) preferably in Marketing, Business, Economics, Social Sciences, Psychology, Statistics, or related field.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in market research, with a proven track-record of managing multiple end-to-end research projects and developing client relationships.
  • Minimum of 2 years' experience managing and leading others as a people manager.
  • Strong analytical skills, including proficiency in statistical analysis and data visualization across a variety of quantitative methodologies including, but not limited to, Segmentation, Brand / Advertising Tracking, UX / CX, Journey and other custom methodologies.

Ability to integrate and seamlessly incorporate Qualitative methods, research, and insights in addition to input streams such as Data Analytics, CRM data, Cultural Insights and Online / Social Listening.

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex insights to diverse audiences including Senior level and C-Suite stakeholders.
  • Responsible for organic client account growth and revenue.
  • Inspires and motivates others. Act as a change leader who brings others along and contributes to building for the future.
  • Proficiency in market research software and tools and Microsoft / Google Suites.
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively and lead cross-functional teams and manage relationships with external vendors.
  • Demonstrated curiosity, willingness to learn (learning mindset), openness to sharing, receiving, asking for, and applying feedback.
  • Adaptability to new methodologies and technologies in the market.
  • Field team oversight / management and accountability for quality of work
  • Direct builds and oversight of data visualization and storytelling including final recommendations for single or multi-method research and strategy approaches
  • Delivery of final deliverables to internal stakeholders and external clients
  • Leading presentations and leading Workshops
  • Influence and cultivation of $500K+ of organic growth
