Overview
Cooper’s Neuroscience Unit is a 16 bed ICU paired with a state-of-the-art Neuro Interventional Suite, that together form an integral part of Cooper Comprehensive Stroke Center.
Our nurses provide expert neurological care in both settings to ensure seamless continuity of care for our patients across a wide range of neurological diagnoses.
With the most advanced technology and providers, Cooper expands capabilities to care for neurological patients 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
The healthcare professionals take tremendous pride in teamwork and interdisciplinary collaboration. In addition, we provide outreach to bring stroke and neurological education to improve community health.
Short Description
The Registered RN is a professional caregiver, who as a member of a multidisciplinary healthcare team, assumes responsibility and accountability for a group of patients for a designated time frame.
They supervise and provide care to these patients utilizing the nursing process, including the therapeutic use of self.
Key Responsibilities
- Follows established policies and procedures.
- Communicates openly with internal customers and supervisors.
- Provides excellent customer service, interfacing well with all levels of staff, management, and physicians.
- Applies Cooper's core values.
- Performs Other duties as required.
Experience Required
A minimum of one year or more of acute care experience in an inpatient setting is preferred
Education Requirements
Graduate of NLN-accredited School of Nursing
License / Certification Requirements
Current NJ-RN License (Registered Nurse); Current American Heart Association BLS Certification (Basic Life Support for Health Care Providers);
certain specialties may require advanced certification (. ACLS, NALS, PALS)
Special Requirements
Hours : 7 pm -7 am, weekends and holidays required.
