Part Time Billing Assistant

We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Part-time Billing Assistant to join our team. As a Billing Assistant, you will gain hands-on experience in the financial workings of billing and reimbursement for autism services.

This role is ideal for someone who is well-versed in medical billing, follow-up, denials, appeals, and has the ability to support all areas where needed.

The job is open to residents in Minnesota, Florida, Iowa, Mississippi, New Mexico, North Dakota, South Carolina, Wisconsin and Texas.

Key Responsibilities :

• Support Revenue Cycle Management with day-to-day operations.
• Verify insurance and Medical Assistance (MA) coverage prior to services being rendered.
• Contact families regarding coverage.
• Assist with client setup and profile maintenance.
• Assist with Medicaid and Commercial Insurance billing.
• Ensure accurate data as it relates to charge entry, posting receipts, and adjustments.
• Respond to correspondence and denials from insurance companies.
• Gather clinical records for insurance requests.
• Complete miscellaneous assignments from the Revenue Cycle Manager and other management as needed.
• Work collaboratively to support all areas of billing and reimbursement as necessary.
• Maintain confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations at all times.

Qualifications :

• Employee must pass all state and federally mandated criminal background checks.
• Employee must meet all Minnesota Autism Center qualifications, training guidelines, and application requirements.
• Employee must possess a high school diploma.
• Well-versed in medical billing, follow-up, denials, appeals, and has the ability to support all areas where needed.
• Education and experience in medical billing is required.
• Experience and knowledge of Microsoft Office, especially Excel proficiency.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to addressing challenges.
