Job Description
The Parent Educator supports the implementation of the Judy Center Early Learning Hub grant, which aims to increase school readiness by providing comprehensive early learning and family support services to children (pre-natal through five years old) and their families. Major responsibilities include supporting families and staff, planning and conducting parent play group sessions, and assisting families through the intake process.
Physical demands of the job include moderate to frequent physical activity, such as sitting on the floor and interacting with infants, toddlers, and their caregivers. The Parent Educator is also required to attend school, team, and division meetings, and use their personal vehicle for work-related activities.

Required qualifications include a Bachelor's degree in early childhood or elementary education, counseling, social work, psychology, or a related field, as well as experience working with families and children (ages prenatal to five). A Master's degree is preferred, and certification as an early childhood teacher is desirable but not required.
Key skills and abilities include thorough knowledge of early childhood pedagogy, excellent human relations and communication skills, and the ability to model activities for parents to engage their children in developmentally-appropriate play.
