A leading Delivery and Transportation company seeks an experienced Account Manager to take over customer account management responsibilities in Houston

The successful applicant will focus on building solid relationships, acquiring additional revenue streams from existing clientele as well as bringing on new customers who can benefit from our service offerings.

As an Account Manager, you will be responsible for meeting monthly and quarterly goals while maintaining a high level of customer satisfaction.

You will report directly to upper management and manage a minimum of 75 accounts (with a maximum of 150) at any given time.

We’re looking for a sales-oriented professionals who value productivity and customer engagement.

The Account Manager is an integral part of our sales and client relations group that will ensure certain clients are communicated with and potentially be the initial point of contact for challenge resolution.

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT NOT LIMITED TO :

The Account Manager position is an outside field position and will only be required to come to the office one day a week.

The remainder of the week will be in the field visiting existing clients.

  • Maintaining and developing relationships with existing customers via face-to-face meetings, telephone calls and emails.
  • Take notes during the visit to see if there are any challenges, relay information to Customer Service and operations to resolve issues with a HIGH SENSE OF URGENCY .
  • Follow-up and follow through with each client once solutions have been implemented within 24-48 hours of initial contact.
  • Report on positive and negative items that need to be addressed by Operations or Sales to Customer Service.
  • Up-sell / Cross-sell current clients with additional services we can provide.
  • Ask current clients for referrals to other companies they work with so that we could help with their shipping needs.
  • Maintain excellent communication and customer relations with all customers.

REQUIRED SALES QUALIFICATIONS :

  • Maintain a database of qualified opportunities through telemarketing, cold calls, face-to-face meetings, networking, and referrals.
  • Gain a clear understanding of customer’s business and service requirements for operations to support customer and meet expectations.
  • Work directly with the pricing team to provide clients and prospects with proposals for service.
  • Produce agreements including fuel surcharges and insurance requirements.
  • Negotiate pricing and service aspects, closing new and add-on business.
  • Respond to and follow-up sales enquiries by telephone, in person and email.
  • Maintain and develop existing and new customers through planned account support for when a new customer does their first shipment.

Follow up with customers to see is shipment process has met their expectations. Act as liaison for this process between ops and sales.

  • Conduct marketing campaigns in assigned territory with the help of the Corp office through direct marketing, email campaigns and sales blitz.
  • Maintain accurate records of meeting activities daily and turn in daily / weekly reports and monitor weekly agenda for greater sales efficiency.
