The Mission Concepts and Capabilities Division (MCC) of Applied Research Associates, Inc. (ARA) is seeking a motivated, energetic Deputy Program Manager to support the government in the development and application of high-assurance computer security systems hardware and software.
This contingent position, expected to start late spring or early summer 2025, will provide support on-site in the National Capital Region, from ARA facilities, and via telecommuting when approved.

The successful candidate will contribute to the development of Department of Defense information assurance (IA) systems.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree and 10+ years of experience OR high school diploma with 15+ years of experience
- DoD SECRET clearance
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team
- Experience in managing contractors and subcontractors in a research and development environment
- Experience in effective communication and problem resolution
- Experience tracking program milestones progress
- Experience directing and coordinating program activities
- Experience in preparing plans and reports for management
- Experience in reviewing reports to ensure progress is accomplished toward program / project objectives
- Experience in financial and budget management
- Experience in coordinating schedules to completion proposals, contract deliverables, and task orders
Desired Qualifications :
- Master’s degree and 8+ years of relevant experience OR
- PhD and five (5) or more years of relevant experience
- DoD TOP SECRET clearance with SCI eligibility
- Experience with program support for U.S. Navy programs
- Experience with business processes and communications for contracts supporting DOD
