St. Mary’s Hospital for Children, in Bayside Queens, NY, a technologically innovative healthcare system providing state-of-the art care to children with complex medical conditions in our inpatient and community programs, is seeking highly skilled Data and Data Governance Analysts.
The Analyst will play pivotal roles on our Data and Application Systems team, in applying data governance and analytics expertise to provide integrity, security, and quality of data assets, and extract valuable insights that will facilitate informed tactical and strategic decision-making.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Collaborate in the development and implementation of a data governance strategy and framework
- Implement quality assurance tools for data management
- Initiate and drive data quality initiatives, including profiling, cleansing, transformation, validation, and visualization processes, to establish and maintain accuracy and consistency
- Perform in-depth analysis of healthcare data using advanced SQL queries and other analytical tools
- Categorize and classify data assets and implement security measures to protect the assets
- Leverage Azure data management tools and services to implement effective governance practices
- Utilize Azure Data Factory, Azure Data Catalog, and related services for metadata management and data quality monitoring
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including IT, legal, compliance, and business units, to align data with governance objectives
Qualifications and Technical Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree
- Required Qualification : Strong knowledge of SQL and other data analysis tools, e.g., R and Python
- Experience using Microsoft development tools, including PowerApps, preferred
- Knowledge of data governance frameworks, such as DAMA
- Expertise with data modeling, warehousing, ETL processes, and visualization tools, e.g., Power BI
- Proficiency in Azure environments and related data management services
- Knowledge of healthcare data interoperability standards, e.g., HL7, FHIR5+ years in data governance and / or data analysis; 3+ years in Healthcare
