Position Overview

Denver Human Services (DHS) is seeking a highly skilled and qualified candidate to serve in the role of Human Services Operations Manager in the Family and Adult Assistance Division (FAAD).

As the Human Services Operations Manager, you will be expected to oversee eligibility teams focused on ensuring accurate and timely processing of public assistance benefits at the main Castro office, for the City and County of Denver.

Additionally, you will provide second level supervisory work over the Family and Adult Assistance Division of Denver Human Services through subordinate front-line supervisors.

The Human Services Operations Manager will be responsible for upholding and encouraging the DHS Leadership Model, derived from six core performance factors : Organizational Leadership & Navigation, Standards and Values, Collaborative Partnerships, Workforce Development, Critical Evaluation and Process and Project Management.

As a member of the agency's leadership team, the selected candidate is expected to exemplify mastery of these six core competencies.

  • We are looking for seasoned professionals within the Human Services field with vision and strong skill-sets in management of a diverse workforce, program planning and implementation, attention to urgent deadlines and meeting section goals related to performance management in the following areas : timely processing, quality assurance, customer service, personnel, as well as policy and procedural changes at the federal, state and county level;

all while maintaining a positive leadership approach that fosters an ideal workplace environment where employees can share ideas and grow within the agency.

About You

Our ideal candidate will have :

  • Supervisory experience of exempt and non-exempt staff strongly preferred, ideally within a Human Service agency
  • Experience in community outreach and collaboration
  • Working knowledge of the Colorado Benefit Management System
  • Experience with public assistance programs, ideally in the state of Colorado

  • Education : Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Public Administration, Sociology, Psychology, or a related field
  • Experience : Three (3) years of supervisory experience within an operational area
  • Education & Experience Equivalency : One (1) year of the appropriate type and level of experience may be substituted for each required year of post high school education

Additional appropriate education may be substituted for the minimum experience requirements.
