Overview

Forbes is looking for an organized and energetic Content Strategist to join the Audience Growth, SEO team. The right person knows SEO needs human oversight and strategic thinking. You recognize search behavior evolving beyond traditional search engines into spaces like large language models and social platforms. This remote role has an option to commute to the Jersey City Forbes office. The position reports to the Director of SEO and will collaborate with editors and contributors to create, maintain, and optimize evergreen content to grow our audience. As a member of the SEO team, you will influence the quality and depth of content to serve readers and drive business outcomes.

This position requires working Eastern Standard Time (EST) hours.

Responsibilities

• Identify new coverage opportunities by conducting competitive analysis to identify gaps in content
• Perform trends research to identify and prioritize stories and topics editors and contributors should cover / update to meet readers’ needs in key moments of their journey
• Partner with the editorial team to strategize and create a robust evergreen content calendar to proactively anticipate seasonal trends with readers’ questions in mind
• Track and report on presence across answer engine responses to uncover structural patterns that may lead to increases in citations
• Create content briefs that layout the most optimal structure for improved rankings on search and inclusion in LLM responses
• Build bi-weekly and monthly reporting that highlight traffic trends and identify categories / authors with strong topical authority
• Train contributors on how to optimize evergreen stories for search and AI citations, focusing on page titles, headlines, internal links, meta descriptions, sentiment analysis, and FAQs
• Identify opportunities to keep content fresh and relevant, and highlight elements that may harm performance (e.g., broken links in content)
• Perform keyword research to create thorough content briefs that align with SEO and editorial best practices

Qualifications

The annual base salary range for this role is $95,000 - $110,000. For details, see Forbes’ compensation notice.

Forbes aims to offer employees flexibility; some positions may require candidates to be based in a specific location, while others may be fully remote (within the U.S.). This position is open to candidates residing in certain states. Due to business operations, we are unable to consider applicants outside these states at this time.
