Job Summary
This position is a 12-week internship program which prepares the new Graduate Nurse for a Registered Nurse position on a general care pediatric unit. Orientation includes a combination of educational sessions and precepted bedside clinical experience. A two (2) year commitment with a minimum of 30 hours / week (0.75 FTE) is required for candidates hired through the internship program. This internship is a joint venture between 12 East and 12 West. During the interview process, unit selection will occur. Education will be provided in a group and unit-based settings. Precepted bedside experience will occur on the onboarding unit.

Brief Descriptions Of Each Unit Below
12 West Mott is a 32-bed pediatric medical-surgical unit, with an age range from infant to young adult. The primary services include orthopedic surgery, trauma, rehabilitation, nephrology, urology, kidney transplant, neurology, neurosurgery, and endocrinology. Up to 10 beds on the unit can be utilized to for the care of stable pediatric patients requiring mechanical ventilation. Our unit fosters a collaborative culture where teamwork is paramount, empowering nurses to lead their practice and deliver exceptional patient-centered care.
12 East is a 32-bed Pediatric Acute Care Unit that provides comprehensive care with a primary focus on gastrointestinal (GI), pulmonary, pediatric surgery, pediatric burn, and neonatal populations. Our diverse atmosphere relies heavily on an energetic, team-oriented environment, which helps us achieve numerous accolades while ensuring we work closely with our patients and families to promote family-centered care. This UMPNC RN posting is posted as Nursing Framework LEVEL C.
Actual Nursing Framework LEVEL and salary will be determined at time of hire.
Nursing Framework levels range from Level A to Level F.
Internship candidates will have a 5% payrate deduction while in the Internship per the UMPNC contact
Required qualifications must be met by the candidate in order to be interviewed and considered for the position. Posting may be filled after the initial 5-day posting period.

Union Affiliation
