We are seeking a motivated Part-Time Junior AutoCAD Operator to join our team. This entry-level role is ideal for students or recent graduates looking to gain professional AutoCAD experience in a supportive professional environment. The Junior CAD Operator will assist field Technicians with preparing, completing, and submitting daily project inspections and final client reports.
Key Responsibilities
- Creates, reviews, and / or edits standardized reports by inputting project information and uploading project photos into the report template via the ILD Report Writing application.
- Creates CAD drawings from Technicians’ information to be included in reports, advising of locations of breaches / defects and other site details.
- Reviews final reports for accuracy in conjunction with the Project Manager; communicates with the field team to obtain any missing reporting information; updates senior management on a weekly basis on missing information via spreadsheet template.
- Submits completed reports to the client (typically within 24 hours of project completion); uploads completed reports, with all documentation and components, onto the organization’s project server.
- Coordinates and maintains Project Folders on the organization’s project server, ensuring all are accurate, up-to-date, accessible, and complete.
- Performs take-offs of job drawing submittals to assist with estimating proposals; delivers testing square footage figures for “in progress” projects to the Project Manager.
- Assists with general office duties as required; may train less experienced report writers on process.
- Supports office administrative functions, such as managing shipments with UPS, maintaining supply inventories, and coordinating routine office logistics.
Qualifications
Proficiency with MS Word, Excel, and Outlook; technical capability to learn job-specific software and systems (i.e., CAD, ILD Report Writer application, etc.).Minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent.Demonstrated analytical, problem-solving, communication (verbal and written), organizational, and interpersonal skills.Awareness of basic concepts of new construction / building components (i.e., drains, curbs, parapets, etc.).Basic understanding of how to measure and calculate square footage of an area(s).Ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team as well as independently; manage multiple priorities at any given time.
