POSITION :
Teacher Leader for the Central STEM Team in the Office of Curriculum and Instruction, approximately 1-50 positions available.

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS :
NYCDOE licensed and appointed teacher of Grades 7-12 or Common Branch teacher certified in Math, Biology, Chemistry, Earth Science, or Physics
At least three (3) years of satisfactory (Highly Effective / Effective) experience within NYC Public Schools
At least three (3) years of satisfactory time and attendance
Experience with the NYC Partnership for Math Equity grant in NYC Public Schools

Demonstrated experience effectively implementing research-based practices for STEM pedagogy.
Demonstrated commitment to the education profession, e.g. active participation in professional organizations, leadership roles, presenting at conferences, etc.
Demonstrated commitment to personal professional development
Strong analytical skills, including the ability to utilize quantitative and qualitative analysis to support decision-making.
Excellent written communication, organizational, and computer literacy skills
Commitment to working during agreed upon schedule
Exceptional time management, including the ability to balance multiple priorities in a fast-paced setting.
Experience in providing professional development or training to teachers.
Familiarity with educational research and best practices in teaching and learning.
Ability to lead and facilitate effective meetings and professional learning communities.
Excellent record of attendance, punctuality and the timely meeting of deadlines
Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively
Demonstrated ability to problem-solve and make informed decisions in complex educational contexts.
DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES :
Plan, coordinate, and facilitate meetings across stakeholders and organizations.
Support in the creation of reports and resources for citywide audiences.
Provide targeted, actionable feedback that increases team effectiveness.
Work collaboratively with other team members and program staff.
Effective and timely response to ongoing feedback and recommendations from colleagues and supervisors
WORK SCHEDULE :
Various dates and times including during summer 2024. Schedules will be determined by need and availability.
Hours up to, but not limited to 200 hours.
Hours up to, but not limited to the approximate number of hours listed. Additional hours may be granted upon the approval of the hiring manager.
SALARY :
Per Session rates as per the relevant union / organization of the advertised title (Collective Bargaining Agreement). Contingent upon funding availability and programmatic approval.
