Job Summary
Under general supervision, this position maintains the ice surface at the Discovery Park Ice Trail, performing all ice maintenance tasks and operating the ice resurfacing vehicle and related equipment.
This position performs duties deemed to be safety sensitive. Employees holding this position participate in pre-employment and random drug testing under Town's policies*

- Operates ice resurfacing vehicle and related equipment at scheduled times to maintain a quality skating surface.
- Assists in maintaining the overall appearance, cleanliness, and safety of the Discovery Park Ice Trail; notifies managers of any unsafe or potentially hazardous ice conditions.
- Provides excellent customer service; resolves complaints and difficult situations, as directed.
- Assists customers with equipment; sharpen skates as required.
- Responds to emergency situations; accurately completes incident reports and various forms.
- Maintains supply inventories including but not limited to general supplies, equipment, and materials related to ice resurfacing operations.
- Performs general and preventative maintenance tasks at the Discovery Park Ice Trail.
- Performs general and preventative maintenance of the ice resurfacing vehicle and related equipment.
- Performs daily checklists and tasks of assigned equipment; completes reporting for ice and facility maintenance.
- Practices safe operating techniques for blade changes, driving, resurfacing, handling, and inspection of machines.
Minimum Qualifications
The requirements listed below are representative of the education, experience, certification and / or licensure required.
An equivalent combination of education and experience to perform the essential duties and meet the necessary employment standards may be considered.
Must be 18 years of age.
Experience operating an ice resurfacing vehicle and related equipment preferred.
Experience and ability to ice skate preferred.
Possession of or the ability to obtain a CPR, First Aid and AED certification within ninety (90) days of hire.

Tools & Equipment
Maintenance and cleaning equipment including ice maintenance equipment, skate sharpeners, vacuums, mops, and any other equipment associated with use in a recreational facility.
Physical Demands
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is consistently required to sit, frequently stand, and walk, and frequently use hands, fingers, handle, feel or operate objects, tools, or controls and reach with hands and arms.
The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee is occasionally required to carry, pull, push, or lift up to 50 pounds.
Employee must communicate clearly and effectively; must understand and be understood.
Must be able to frequently engage in ordinary or telephone conversations with speech and hearing.
Employee must be able to consistently see with near and far acuity, depth perception, color vision and field vision. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close and distance vision acuity, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust his or her focus, allowing a broad field of vision.
Environment
The employee occasionally works outside or drives in varying temperatures and conditions. The employee is occasionally exposed to wet and / or humid conditions, hot and / or cold conditions, or airborne particles.
The noise level in the work environment is usually high and may range from moderate to extreme with occasional vibrations.
The employee will occasionally encounter fumes, odors, dusts, mists, smoke, gasses, and poor ventilation. The employee will occasionally work with hazards such as mechanical, electrical, burns, explosives, or radiant energy.
