Role Overview
The Vice President of Sales is responsible for managing the Company’s sales functions in order to achieve sales and profit goals within their prospective region.
This position will report directly to our EVP and be a part of the leadership team. This person will be responsible for business development, revenue growth and for achieving the approved annual sales plan in a cost-effective manner.
Areas of Responsibility
- Develop and implement strategic programs to ensure achievement of sales targets such as : increase in market penetration, gaining new business, and retention of customers.
- Develop a sales strategy (specific to each market being served) on a quarterly / annual basis to drive sales growth.
- Lead, motivate, and coach the sales team to meet and exceed sales revenue plans and provide the highest level of customer service.
- Assist and provide direct reports with career planning, training, and growth.
- Maintain a team-based work environment to promote sales across the business and drive employee and customer retention.
- Develop timely reports needed to monitor progress of sales team.
- Maintain and review sales prospect pipeline and sales forecast.
- Complete sales and negotiate contracts, as needed.
- Participate in fiscal year business planning.
- Conduct Quarterly Business Reviews with current customers, in conjunction with Account Executives, Account Managers (if applicable), and other designees to improve quality of service and unearth other avenues for opportunity.
- Keep current with industry standards and knowledge by attending trade shows, seminars, and conventions.
- Interface with senior management to accurately budget expenses and forecast future revenue, trending, and actual sales activity.
- Prepare and present proposals and presentations as needed to senior leadership.
- Present to ownership on monthly, quarterly, and annual basis.
- Track, manage and approve monthly sales incentives.
- Review market trends to determine customer needs, volume potential, price point, emerging technologies to develop sales strategy to accomplish growth goals of company.
- Review unprofitable products and develop plan with Sales and Operations to achieve profitable GP%.
- Represent company at trade association functions to promote product.
- Create and control expenditures of department to conform to annual budget requirements.
- Other Duties as Assigned.

RequirementsEducation & Qualification :
- 4 Year Bachelor’s Degree
- 10+ years professional experience

Skills & Ability :
- Client-obsessed with a strong aptitude in a structured sales approach
- Self-motivated with exceptional talent in closing deals
- Strong knowledge in the complete end-to-end sales cycle (from prospecting to closing)
- Exceptional prospecting / hunter skills and experience
- Experience in pharmaceuticals and / or manufacturing environment is a plus
- Good communication and Email writing skills
Physical Requirements :
- Ability to navigate office, lab, and / or plant floor working environments.
- Standard office environment without unpleasant or hazardous conditions. Physical demands involved in office work such as the ability to talk, hear, use hands to handle and feel;
work on a computer up to 7 hours a day; close vision required for computer usage.
Must have the ability to wear applicable personal protective equipment utilized at this site, including safety glasses / goggles, hairnets, lab coats and safety shoes.
Work Environment :
