WEST Coast Aquatics is seeking to add a member to our aquatics team that will teach youth swim lessons starting in September of 2024.
This person should be comfortable in the water and facilitate a positive learning environment following the WEST curriculum and prioritizing swimmer safety.
Compensation
Base Pay : $18-$22 / hour and will reflect the experience and qualifications of the applicant.
Lessons Duties :
Teach in-water youth swimming lessons.
Attend inservice training and meetings.
Adhere to the WEST teaching curriculum.
Follow all WEST policies.
Private Lessons
We pay our instructors at a 50% revenue share for all private lessons. Private Lessons may only be done during designated times and while also working Group Lessons.
Work Schedule
Instructors must be able to adhere to the set schedule to create consistency with classes. Sessions that instructors can choose to work are :
Monday & Wednesday 9-11am, 4-7pm
Tuesday & Thursday 9-11am, 4-7pm
Saturday 10am-2 : 30pm
Requirements
Strong Customer Service Skills : This role will interact with customers, parents, athletes and must be outgoing, friendly and personable, yet decisive and firm when necessary.
Organized & Detail Oriented : We work in a fast paced environment and safety is our top concern. Candidates must be maintaining swimmer safety at all times while also fulfilling other responsibilities.
Teaching / Working with Children : Not required but beneficial.
Swim Experience : Not required but beneficial.

We will collect applications through Sunday 8 / 25 and will begin setting up interviews for the week of 8 / 26. Training will start the week of 9 / 3.

Available shifts and compensation : Available shifts all days except Sundays. Compensation is $18.00 - $22.00 / hour.
