Energy Communications Consultant and Speechwriter, Senior

Key Role :

Provide executive-level communications and speechwriting support to a government research and development client. Translate technical and scientific information into engaging plain-language narratives that tell compelling stories to technical innovators, policymakers, investors, and industry.

Develop speeches, presentations, talking points, op-eds, and briefing memos that align messaging with agency strategic objectives for senior client leadership.

Basic Qualifications :

  • 5+ years of experience in speechwriting, executive communications, journalism, or public relations in a federal government agency, Capitol Hill office, political campaign, nonprofit, or trade organization setting
  • Experience developing engaging thought-leadership messages and narratives that are consistently integrated into media and events
  • Experience tracking and measuring the impact of speeches and presentations
  • Ability to translate complicated scientific or technical language for non-technical audiences
  • Ability to represent at high-level meetings and engagements
  • Ability to exhibit flexibility and adaptability, and work in a collaborative, fast-paced environment
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust or Suitability / Fitness determination based on client requirements
  • Bachelor's degree

Additional Qualifications :

  • Experience using Microsoft Office programs, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Experience in a consulting environment
  • Knowledge of the energy industry
  • Possession of excellent client service skills
  • Possession of excellent verbal and written communication skills, including public speaking and storytelling skills
  • Master's degree in Journalism, Communications, Marketing, English, Political Science, or a related field

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual's particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements.

The projected compensation range for this position is $75,600.00 to $172,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen's total compensation package for employees.
