Job Summary Job

This position will lead the Sustainability Program for Product and Packaging across Werfen. The Sr. Manager Sustainability, Product and Packaging will establish the overall strategy for the sustainability for the products and packaging, align sustainability for product and packaging to design initiatives within business goals, and ensure integration of product and packaging for sustainability requirements into other business support functions across Werfen.

Together, with other team members, Sr. Manager Sustainability, Product and Packaging will be responsible for the product and packaging sustainability related matters of all Werfen on-market and pre-market products, processes (governance and compliance) and managing consistent communication to Werfen locations and the field.

This position will be within the IL Quality Assurance and Regulatory Affairs (QARA) Organization. The Sr. Manager Sustainability, Product and Packaging will have frequent interaction with the Senior Management Team as well as a cross functional team including, but not limited to, product development teams, marketing teams, and regulatory and quality assurance, manufacturing and supply chain teams to define, align and drive product and packaging sustainability initiatives.

Responsibilities

Key Accountabilities

  • Responsible for creation, alignment and execution of the strategy for product and packaging sustainability
  • Responsible for leading cross functional team members to complete all aspects of product and packaging sustainability initiatives.
  • Responsible for sustainability for all Werfen on-market and pre-market products and packaging.
  • Ensure Werfen products meet future Green Deal ECO Design and country sustainability requirements.
  • Ensure Werfen product packaging meets future Green Deal Packaging and country sustainability requirements.
  • Gathers and reports on applicable product and packaging sustainability metrics and data.
  • Represent product and packaging sustainability within product development teams to ensure sustainability is being designed into products and their packaging.
  • Responsible for creation, standardization and implementation of product and packaging sustainability related procedures.
  • Ownership for the relationship management with external consulting experts on product and packaging sustainability.
  • Werfen expert on global product and packaging sustainability requirements
  • Complete continuous technical analysis and monitoring for product and packaging sustainability related signals.
  • Responsible for customer assurance. Manage key interface contacts with customers. May include completion of product and packaging sustainability related inquiries, intake of vulnerability reports, provide consistent guidance to staff and customers.
  • Responsible for governance, risk and compliance related to product and packaging sustainability for Werfen
  • Conform compliance to existing industry policies and guidelines.

Qualifications

Minimum Knowledge & Experience required for the position :

Education :

  • Requires bachelor's degree in technical field or equivalent combination of related training, proficiency and experience.
  • Master's degree preferred.

Experience :

  • Minimum of 8 years of leadership and or project management expertise
  • Background in environmental sciences, packaging, R&D, engineering
  • Experience in writing policy and managing compliance.

Additional skills / knowledge :

  • Familiar with laws and regulations on sustainability
  • Medical Device and Invitro-Diagnostics Quality Systems FDA, ISO13485, ISO 14001 etc.
  • Project Planning
  • Proficiency knowledge of Microsoft office System, including Word, Powerpoint, Excel
  • Good public speaking skills
  • Good written communications
  • Fluency in English
