Job Summary
The RN in the Med / Surgical / Pediatrics Department will be knowledgeable in the care of the following age groups and maintain RN clinical competency in these groups : Infant, Child, Adolescent, Adult, Sr.
Adult, and Geriatric.
- All nursing care functions / responsibilities are based on the ANA standards.
- Responsible for the compliance of Physician / Provider orders.
- Adheres to the Nursing Code of Ethics, Avera’s Mission and Avera’s Service Excellence Standards.
Education and / or Experience
- Graduate of Registered Nursing Education program.
- 3 years of experience required.
Licensure / Certification / Registration
- Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in the State of South Dakota
- Basic Life Support (BLS) is required upon hire and must be maintained.
- ACLS is recommended.
- PALS is highly recommended.
- Attends all mandatory hospital and departmental meetings and in-services.
- Participates in educational opportunities and updates / maintains current professional clinical competency related to areas of responsibilities.
Work Schedule
- Hours :
- Position requires 72 hours worked in a six-week schedule equating to 624 hours annually, not exceeding 1248 hours in a 12 month period.
- Six weekends required annually.
- Flat Rate pay of $50.00
