Key Responsibilities :

• Assist in Therapy Sessions : Implement therapy activities and interventions as directed by the occupational therapist, focusing on fine motor skills, gross motor skills, sensory integration, and daily living tasks.
• Monitor Child Progress : Observe and document the child’s responses during therapy sessions, noting improvements or areas that require additional focus.

Communicate findings with the supervising occupational therapist.

• Supportive Environment Setup : Prepare therapy spaces with necessary equipment and materials, ensuring a safe and engaging environment for the child.
• Family Education : Collaborate with parents and caregivers to demonstrate therapeutic exercises and activities that can be continued at home, providing guidance to support the child’s ongoing development.
• Documentation : Maintain accurate and timely records of therapy sessions, including progress notes, attendance, and any relevant observations or modifications to the treatment plan.
• Adapt Activities : Modify therapeutic activities to meet the unique needs of each child, ensuring that therapy is accessible and effective.
• Collaboration : Work closely with the occupational therapist and other members of the child’s care team, including teachers, speech therapists, and physical therapists, to provide holistic care.

Qualifications :

• Education : Associate’s degree from an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant (OTA) program.
• Licensure / Certification : Current certification and licensure as an Occupational Therapy Assistant in State / Region .
• Experience : Previous experience in a pediatric setting is preferred, but new graduates with a passion for working with children are encouraged to apply.
• Skills :
• Strong understanding of child development.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, especially when working with children and families.
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
• Creativity in adapting activities to meet individual child needs.
• Strong organizational and documentation skills.
