Pediatrics Advice Nurse (RN)

Pediatrics Advice Nurse (RN) needed for a contract opportunity with Yoh’s client located in Burlingame, CA!

Top Skills Should You Possess :

Minimum of three (3) years of progressively responsible and directly-related work experience, preferably in Pediatrics

What You’ll Be Doing :

• Independently provide general education and nursing care to patients via telephone or in person
• Respond to and resolve patient / family questions and needs
• Triage and schedule patients as appropriate, ensuring appointment preferences are given to patients in emergency situations
• Document clinical information, including patient phone calls and maintain accurate and complete patient documentation according to medical profession standards
• Accurately document all patient encounter, phone triage, test results and office visits
• Observe and / or record and report patient’s condition and reaction to drugs and treatments to clinicians
• Act as a liaison, coordinate and integrate service for patients by continually collaborating with physician(s)
• Communicate the appropriate referral choice to community physicians
• Schedule : M-F, 8 : 15am 5 : 15pm

What You Need to Bring to the Table :

• Active and unrestricted California RN license
• Associates Degree in Nursing from an accredited College or University; Bachelors Degree in Nursing preferred
• Current CPR certification
• Minimum of three (3) years of progressively responsible and directly-related work experience, preferably in Pediatrics
• Experience in Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems; EPIC preferred
• Knowledge of professional nursing theory, regulations and practices to give and evaluate patient care
• Knowledge of common safety hazards and precautions to establish / maintain a safe work environment
• Knowledge of medical chart reporting and records
• Knowledge of computer systems and software used in functional area
• Skill in applying and modifying the principles, methods and techniques of professional nursing to provide ongoing patient care
• Ability to educate patients and / or families as to the nature of disease and to provide instruction on proper care and treatment
• Ability to perform standard clinical procedures according to established protocols
• Ability to demonstrate customer service skills in interactions with all patients, families and staff, including high volume and stressful situations
• Ability to plan, organize, prioritize, work independently and meet deadlines
