JOB DESCRIPTION Commissioning Technician ( full-time) (Direct Hire)

The Commissioning Technician will perform activities associated with Commissioning honing and laser Machines for the machine tool industry.
This includes close interaction with project teams in a positive and focused manner to realize productive results. Clear inter-departmental communication is necessary, as are frequent customer discussions.
The individual must also provide accurate and high-quality work with minimal supervision.
This position is also open to entry level technicians who thrive in a fast-paced environment and learn quickly. All the applications will be considered regardless of experience and background.
Essential Functions
- Coordinate and balance workload using both internal and external resources to complete scheduled activities as required.
- Commissioning and qualification of clients machines in house and at customer sites.
- Installation of Machines at customer sites.
- Support client internally as well as with customers in process related tasks to achieve quality.
- Execute machine build, alignment of machines, and service tasks when needed.
- Work in process development on development projects and create new processes as needed to achieve new quality specs.
- Commissioning of hone and laser machines and meeting final acceptance at customer site
- Clear and concise service report writing and fact-based reporting to the home office
- Ensure all work on customer site is carried out by customer, plant and internal guidelines
- Willingness to travel to domestic and international assignments up to 50% of the time.

Work Environment
This job operates in an indoor industrial shop floor setting and requires presence with occasional visits to customer sites.
This is a hands on job with ability to operate machines
Required Skills and Abilities
Mechanical background is highly desired. Machining or Machine set-up experience preferred. Setting up bore gauges, indicators etc.
Other mechanical disciplines also beneficial.
Effective communicator- Can effectively communicate, in a professional manner, internally as well as to customers through email, phone conference, and face-to-face interactions.
Ability to learn and persevere through a training itinerary that will include machine building, machine alignment, tooling assembly / repair, abrasive mounting, abrasive selection, honing process development, mechanical and process troubleshooting, among others.
- Understanding of the manufacturing processes for metal cutting applications.
- Prior machining, CNC, metal cutting and laser processes are highly desired.
- Knowledge of office software such as word, excel and power point for reports and documentation.
- Knowledge of precision gages such bore gage, surface finish gage, micrometers and indicators are desired
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
- Ability to remain flexible enough to accommodate any changes in scope and direction.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to leverage previous experience.
