Capital Preparatory Schools seeks passionate educators who have demonstrated leadership.

Title responsibilities include, but are not limited to :

Support students with the college application process, including : choices, applications, fee waivers, etc.

Elective support- i.e. College essay writing, Naviance, Common app, admissions requirements, financial aid requirements.

Assist administration with transcript evaluations and transcript distribution Schedule and conduct mock interviews with scholars as practice for college admissions interviews

College entrance and procedures.

Plan, implement, and coordinate college trips, including visiting college fairs for students. Plan and conduct Career Days and College Fairs at the Harlem and Harbor Campuses.

Schedule visitations by representatives from local colleges

Provide information concerning scholastic aptitude and achievement tests; assist students with applications and scheduling;

distribute test results as appropriate.

Obtain, organize, file, and display guidance materials; catalog and prepare for use by students; maintain displays and bulletin boards.

Plan and collaborate with team / advisors college culture activities such as college reveal day, home-coming events, etc.

Schedule financial aid meetings for students and families and work with families to determine the most appropriate school placement.

Performs any and all duties as may be assigned by Administration.

Experience / Training :

Naviance, Common App, FAFSA.gov, College Board Experience

Specialized assistance and information concerning career planning and college entrance to students, parents, staff, and community agencies.

Development of materials related to career / college opportunities for high school students. Obtain, evaluate, and process occupational literature.

Operate PC’s in a Windows environment using various office productivity software applications

Operate modern office equipment and audio / visual equipment.

Work independently using effective public relations skills with little direction. Establish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships.

Analyze situations accurately and adopt an effective course of action.

Meet schedules and timelines.

Plan and organize work.

Work confidentially with discretion.

Communicate effectively both orally and in writing. Read, interpret, apply, and explain rules, regulations, policies, and procedures.
