Overview
A Senior Project Manager provides expert project management leadership on cross-organizational projects to support Efficiency Vermont's (EVT's) contractual goals and VEIC's mission, vision, and values.
The role works closely with the Manager, Project Management Office to achieve EVT's Objectives and Key Results (OKRs) while contributing to a mission-driven, creative, enjoyable and stimulating work environment.
Responsibilities
- Continuously demonstrates and role models the highest level of project management skills and applies project management and change management best practices and standards to all projects
- Leads and manages a variety of complex, cross-organizational projects within EVT to enable the organization's OKRs.
- Develops, maintains, and works within a highly effective Project Management framework.
- Continuously identifies and implements process improvement opportunities, utilizing industry and field best practices.
- Maintains accountability for ensuring projects are completed on-time, on-budget, and with a high degree of quality.
- Assumes responsibility for establishing project plans, milestones, and schedules.
- Effectively collaborates with key stakeholders and team members to fully understand project needs to establish project deliverables
- Regularly communicates project status with internal and external stakeholders
- Coordinates the work of others internally and externally to ensure project goals and milestones are achieved.
- Mentors staff and provides guidance to others on project management best practices.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Strong personal commitment to the mission, vision, goals and values of VEIC.

- Bachelor's degree in business or relevant field, plus at least eight years of professional project management experience, or a combination of education and experience from
- which comparable knowledge and skills are acquired. Experience working in a regulated utility environment preferred, but not required.
- Working towards or having achieved Project Management Professional (PMP) is desired.
- Demonstrated competence of advanced project management skills and the ability to achieve results both independently and through leading others.
- Knowledge and understanding of budgeting processes and resource allocation models.
- Ability to work cross-functionally and engage staff across the organization to support organization's goals and mission.
- Demonstrated ability to be organized, action-oriented, detail-oriented, accurate, and able to handle multiple tasks and competing priorities.
- Excellent decision-making skills and an understanding of various associated tools and techniques.
- Proficiency with project management tools and techniques.
- Flexibility to quickly adapt to new situations, processes and innovation; ability to adapt style to meet the needs of individuals and / or the organization.
- Experience in identifying or defining best practices and the ability to leverage these to an organization through documentation, training, and role modeling.
- Strong interpersonal skills and excellent written and oral communication skills.
