As a Business Development Assistant, you will be responsible for sourcing, targeting, and making initial contact with customers who can successfully grow their business with MarathonLS.
This position will play an important role in representing our brand, product and company and your work will have a direct impact on our growth.
You will manage your pipeline from developing target account lists, to generating new opportunities, using personalized and creative outreach, and executing a seamless transition to your Account Executive peers after qualification.
This position is on site in Norwood, MA and ideal for a candidate who is starting out in their sales career and will report to the Sales Director.
Responsibilities :
- Generate new business opportunities among biotech, pharmaceutical and clinical industries that fit our target customer profile.
- Transition qualified and interested leads to appropriate Account Executive.
- Creatively prospect with both traditional outreach (email, cold calling) and comfortable experimenting with new technologies.
- Possess a strong understanding of MarathonLS’ product portfolio, target markets, competition and positioning.
- Successfully manage and overcome prospects’ objections and rejections.
- Utilize a variety of tools and technology such as ZoomInfo and LinkedIn Sales Navigator to effectively source and target customers.
Demonstrate resourcefulness and creativity in reaching customers who can benefit from MarathonLS’ product offering.
- Consistently represent our product, brand, and company by demonstrating our core values and unique differentiators.
- Exhibit exceptionally high standards in terms of timeliness, responsiveness, and follow-up.
- Maintain accurate records in NetSuite CRM. Actively and consistently update sales activities, sales pipeline, and all sales data.
- Build strong relationships with prospects to ensure success. Partner with Account Executives to nurture new business opportunities.
- Continually expand your knowledge of market trends and customer needs.
- Partner with members of the sales, marketing and operations teams to effectively communicate needs and trends you are seeing in the marketplace.

The Ideal Candidate :
- 0-2+ years of sales or business-related experience.
- Excellent written and verbal communication, organizational and computer skills.
- High attention to detail, with a process and solution-oriented mindset.
- You understand the significance of a customer centric mindset and of exceeding customer expectations.
- Must be a highly driven and self-starting individual with the ability to stay motivated in the face of rejection.
- Demonstrated record of meeting and exceeding your performance targets.
- Must be open to receiving feedback and implementing it and feel comfortable in a coaching and mentoring environment.
