GDIT is seeking qualified candidates for Mission Training Complex Capabilities Support (MTCCS) program. GDIT delivers individual sustainment through collective Mission Command training, Leadership Training / Development, Warfighter Functions (WFF) training, Delta Training, First Person Simulations (Gaming), and constructive simulations supported training.
Technical integration between simulation and C4I systems. Establish / maintain training and exercise networks. Accomplish Risk Management Framework Certification and Accreditation security and risk management activities.
The JMSC-IP Sr. System Administrator role works to assure smooth operation of the Mission Training Center (MTC) Data Center and related areas that fall under the training network architecture.
This role will assist in planning deployment, installation, administration, and maintenance of all systems, including servers, storage & render hardware, backup systems and other complex systems that provide foundational services for the MTC.
This position will also monitor computer systems availability, performance, and security, and install, configure, and perform routine maintenance to systems software, hardware, and related applications systems.
The Sr. System Administrator role will provide detailed analysis, design, implementation, and support for LAN / WAN and VoIP systems, VMware environment, and simulation system solutions.
The incumbent will also be responsible for end user support with emphasis on supporting server-side components such as Antivirus Server Administration, Enterprise mobility management, Software and OS Patch Deployment.
The Sr. System Administrator will collaborate with other technology teams and support staff to address challenges, help to plan projects throughout the year, and to identify long-term technical goals.
HOW A HELP DESK TECHNICIAN WILL MAKE AN IMPACT
Acquire and maintain advanced knowledge of the Communications Room and Data Center, including all devices, servers, storage nodes / clusters, render hardware, etc.
Manage, architect, and oversee all aspects of the training network computing environment. This includes network infrastructure, servers, enterprise applications, audio video systems and all specialty simulation systems and devices located onsite.
Assist in execution of installation projects, including large replacements / expansions of equipment.
Install, configure, manage, and maintain operating system workstations and servers in support of training requirements.
Install, configure, and document computer systems software, hardware, and related applications systems (serial numbers, models, software version, and custom configurations).
Add and remove systems software and installs hardware according to established procedures.
Perform routine maintenance of hardware and software in conformance with established procedures.
Monitor, update, and tune systems to achieve optimum performance levels.
Monitor availability, performance and security of computer systems software including operating and network systems and utilities, servers and other hardware and related application systems.
Implement corrective actions to resolve any issues found.
Coordinate activities related to infrastructure and database, involving the definition, development, and maintenance of procedures.
Participate in systems planning, design and development and systems hardware and software projects.
Work with team members to schedule and perform necessary maintenance, upgrades and troubleshooting of all supported systems.
Determine and develop architectural approaches and solutions.
Conduct routine hardware and software audits of workstations and servers to ensure compliance with established university standards, policies, and configuration guidelines.
Perform regular network scans looking for non-compliant devices and applications, report to IT leadership to mitigate.
Support backup, disaster recovery, and archive processes for critical data.
Respond to intermediate and advanced technical and workstation support requests from users and technical staff.
WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED :
Education : BS / BA in computer science, information systems, engineering, or related field with concentration in computer-based technology.
Equivalent experience in the related field of 6-8 years
Preferred Skills / Experience :
2+ years ofproven Systems Administrator, Window Administrator or Systems Analyst experience in several different work environments.
Linux server administration, backup storage solutions, and systems monitoring.
Implementation and management of VMWare clusters, storage area networks (SAN).
Knowledge in designing and implementing scalable solutions for secure networks.
Knowledge of and experience working with Windows server & client operating systems, Active Directory.
Knowledge of virtualization concepts and experience with VMware.
Excellent troubleshooting skills in computer software, hardware, and network systems.
Strong interpersonal skills must be able to work effectively as part of a team and foster team cooperation.

Required Certification(s) : Required DoD Baseline Certification as IAT II or above. Required Security + CE Certification
