Summary Structural Design Engineer

The Entry-Level Structural Design Engineer will be responsible for creating structural designs for transportation-related structures, with a primary focus on bridges.

Responsibility Summary Structural Design Engineer

  • Assist in the development of structural designs for transportation infrastructure projects, including bridges, retaining walls, and other related structures.
  • Work closely with senior engineers and project managers to analyze project requirements and develop innovative design solutions.
  • Utilize engineering software and tools to create detailed design drawings and specifications.
  • Conduct structural analysis and calculations to ensure designs meet safety, performance, and regulatory standards.
  • Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams to integrate structural designs with other project components, such as roadway alignments and drainage systems.
  • Participate in site visits and field inspections to assess existing conditions and support construction activities.
  • Stay current with industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies in structural engineering.

Qualification Summary Structural Design Engineer

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or a related field from an accredited university.
  • Strong academic background in structural analysis, mechanics, and design principles.
  • Proficiency in engineering software such as AutoCAD, Revit, SAP2000, or similar programs.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Eager to learn and develop new skills in structural engineering and transportation design
