Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) (Hiring Immediately)

Description : Summary

Under supervision of a Physical Therapist and in accordance with agency policies, gives medically prescribed therapy. Provides advisory services to other professional workers who share responsibility for client care. Participates in the development of the physical therapy program. Functions require special skills and knowledge of public health principles and practices. Each client visit will be documented on the appropriate clinical or progress note.

Essential Duties

• Performs physical therapy procedures on clients based on the evaluating physical therapists plan of care.
• Teaches appropriate treatment procedures and supportive activities to client and family members as delegated and supervised by the therapist.
• Translates all exercises into functional activities or activities of daily living.
• Provides recommendation and instruction on home modifications, adaptive equipment or medical equipment.
• Communicates with the Physical Therapist regarding clients progress.
• Maintains necessary records. Prepares clinical and progress notes.
